Champions Have Integrity.BLACK BELT is a worldwide recognized symbol that represents a high level of excellence, not just in physical skill, but also in attitude, behavior and character. Integrity is vital ingredient for any leader, in and out of the Martial Arts. Having integrity and a solid character, leads to earning the respect and trust of others. Black Belts always honor their commitments and accept their responsibilities in life. They are people that can be trusted and counted on, they are dependable and always there to give support to their team, friends and family. As Leaders in our communities and as dedicated students of the Martial Arts, we must constantly remind ourselves to go beyond the physical aspects and to also practice the mental and character developing aspects of the arts. BLACK BELT CHAMPIONS live by a code of ethics and honor. They walk their talk and are value driven. Champions live by the principles of Black Belt. Being liked, trusted and respected by others is an honored position in life. To deserve this honor, we must always practice and live with Integrity.
I am also on a personal mission to show the world what a Black Belt is capable of when you truly apply the principles of 'Black Belt' out of the dojo and into the world. Modesty, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Courage, and an Indomitable Spirit are the core of what a black belt is.

Located on the golden, sageb rush banks of the Thompson River, Kamloops offers
spectacular glacier-worn scenery. With more than 2,000 hours of sunshine each year, it's a great place to pursue all types of outdoor (and indoor!) activities. Driving in from the west on the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1), be sure to pull over at the lookout point 25 km (15 mi.) west of town. Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking Kamloops Lake, or merely get out to stretch your legs and enjoy the view, but be sure to get a good look at the famous “painted bluffs” across the lake. Formed more than 10 thousand years ago as a result of volcanic activity, these colored rock formations get their red and blue colors from the oxidization of iron and copper deposits in the soil. You’ll definitely want to take a picture!
You'll also want to have your cameras ready for the tigers and wolves and bears at the Kamloops Wildlife Park. See monkeys, zebras, and burrowing owls, or learn about the park's species survival programs as you watch two of the remaining 400 Siberian tigers left in the world. Stroll the 49-hecatre (120-acre) grounds on foot, or tour them in style on the "Wildlife Express," the park's miniature railway system, as you observe more than 60 species of local and exotic animals, many of which are threatened or endangered. Awarded the Baines Award for excellence in Wildlife Education in 1990, the Kamloops Wildlife Park promises fun and learning to all who visit !
For a unique adventure with spectacular scenery, take a trip on the Kamloops Heritage Highway by rail. Guests can ride the rails with the sights and sounds of the magnificently restored steam engine 2141, The Spirit of Kamloops. Watch out for Billy Miner and his gang who are known to stop the train and re-enact the "Great Train Robbery." A truly unique attraction is the Sunmore Ginseng Factory. Here visitors can take a tour of the 18,000 sq. foot facility and learn about the healing powers of ginseng. This is the only professional ginseng manufacturing facility in North America. For the out of doors enthusiast, there are a variety of activities both in the city and nearby. Hyak Wilderness Adventures offers guests a fun and safe whitewater rafting experience. Depending on how much excitement a visitor desires, one can take a motorized raft trip or enjoy a paddle trip and really get involved with the river.
For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, no visit is complete without viewing the Adams River Salmon Run. Every year, nature's great story of birth, death and renewal takes place in the shallow waters of the Adams River, east of Kamloops. This annual reaffirmation of life is one of nature's most remarkable shows, witnessed by travellers from all over the world. Every year in late September to mid-October, hundreds of thousands of salmon make their way up the mighty Fraser and Thompson Rivers to spawn. It's a massive migration and a yearly ritual established well before humans settled the area. The Adams River is also the final home for Chinook, Coho and pink salmon. Of course there is nothing like a day of skiing and there is plenty available. One of the most noted ski resorts is the Sunpeaks Ski Area. The resort is internationally recognized and known for its abundant sunshine, dry and plentiful snow, friendly locals, superb grooming, and an award-winning trail and village design. There are over 3,600 skiing acres on three mountains and the highest peak soars nearly 3,000 feet above the village. Sunpeaks can entertain all from the most aggressive to the most cautious of skiers and snowboarders with its wide variations in terrain.
